Our Finishes

Marble

Marble is an ultra-smooth, polished finish with tonal variation similar to traditional Italian Venetian plaster. The darker the color, the more tonal variation appears with the polishing technique. Marble transforms bathrooms, fireplaces, and accent walls with its pearlescent elegance and silky feel.

Stone

Stone is a smooth plaster with an ideal balance of medium texture and subtle depth, making it the preferred Goldilocks finish for most interior designs. Inspired by traditional Italian Marmorino, Stone transforms interior spaces with its soft and nuanced elegance and soothing presence. 

Tadelakt

Tadelakt is inspired by traditional Moroccan Tadelakt, a burnished-smooth water-repellent finish created naturally from the chemistry of olive oil soap being rubbed into lime plaster (“Tadelakt” is Arabic for that process). Tadelakt beautifully transforms showers and bathrooms, kitchens, and fireplaces with its organic elegance and elevated yet grounding feel.

About High Plains Plaster

Ben Waldman, owner, has over 13 years of experience in the plaster trade. He started with learning clay-based plasters in Northern California before moving back to Denver and working under his mentor, Ryan Chivers, who championed the Tadelakt plaster finish in the United States. Under Ryan, Ben developed a deep understanding of lime and applying lime-based plaster.

Ben has experience plastering over drywall, adobe, strawbales, concrete, lath, hemp, and numerous other unique substrates.

When not plastering, Ben is probably out bicycling around town with his 6-year old and 1-year old. He lives in North Park Hill, Denver, CO.
